Armed Security Guard Certification (2 part class)

ARMED SECURITY OFFICER / GUARD REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STATE OF TENNESSEE Class cost: $175.00 (16 hours) Training to become a Tennessee-certified armed security officer includes an examination covering specific subject materials. STATE REQUIREMENTS says all candidates must complete: 4-hour basic course that includes one (1) hour each of: Orientation Legal powers and limitations of a security guard/officer Emergency Procedures General Duties 8 hours in the classroom covering: Legal limitations on the use of a firearm Handling of a firearm Safety and maintenance of firearms 4 hours of marksmanship training which includes a shooting test that requires a minimum of 70%  score [...]

Safe Restraint Techniques

Having the skills to safely restrain someone for their protection and yours without using any intermediate weapons or restraints. The safety restraint course develops principles of controlling a subject’s balance and leverage through a series of drills put into a flow. We start with wrist control and progress through different branching techniques while practicing controlled mechanics and operator/subject safety during contact. This also meets the new Dallas Law state requirements that started January 1, 2023 for all armed and unarmed Security officers working around alcohol.
